Collaborating for Research Success

We welcome researchers, academic teams and commercial partners from around the world and regularly host visiting scientists and participate in sabbatical arrangements. In addition to using our state-of-the-art facilities, visiting scientist are able to work and benefit from our interdisciplinary team. VIDO scientists have expertise in numerous scientific disciplines including molecular biology, virology, immunology, bacteriology, biochemistry, epidemiology, and veterinary medicine.

We are part of the dynamic bioscience cluster in Saskatoon, Canada, that encompasses:

  • The University of Saskatchewan Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy & Nutrition, the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, and the School of Public Health
  • Innovation Place, a science and technology park situated adjacent to the University
  • The Canadian Light Source, Canada’s only synchrotron, and the Saskatchewan Research Council, National Research Council, and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada research institutes.

Through collaboration we have developed links with a range of Canadian and international universities, research institutes and governments. This network of partnerships has reshaped infectious disease and vaccine research and enhanced worldwide preparedness against infectious diseases.

Safety and security is of paramount importance to VIDO. Researchers must complete reliability screening prior to the use of our research space. For more information please refer to the Safety & Security section of our website.
